2017 TeamKids Easter Appeal
The TeamKids Easter Appeal is a perfect example of what TeamKids is all about – people coming together to make a positive difference within our community. It’s a team effort, for our kids, and we’re proud of what has been achieved in 2015 & 2016 as we saw the triumphant return of the Easter Appeal after over 25 years! The funds raised, through donations, sponsorship, gifts, pledges and in kind support, will help us to continue to fund important equipment, research and services vital for over a quarter of a million children, babies and women who rely on the Women’s and Children’s Hospital each year.
In 2017, we welcome Telstra and Westpac as our TeamKids Easter Appeal Presenting Partners. This year, we will be raising funds towards supporting Research, Equipment and Facilities, and the Hospital Environment at the Women's and Children's Hospital, through key projects such as:
In 2017, we are also pleased to announce that we've enlisted the help of some Young Ambassadors who will be co-hosting this years appeal.
All Young Ambassadors are ex-patients of the Women's and Children's Hospital. Read their story's below.
Meet Lauren. Just over twelve months ago Lauren’s life was very different. She was fighting cancer for the third time and she was told that a treatment currently being trialled in the United States, known as CAR-T, was her last chance. Diagnosed with Leukaemia at age seven, Lauren spent a number of years undergoing treatment at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Today, a year after receiving the lifesaving revolutionary CAR-T treatment from the US via Melbourne, she is still cancer free. TeamKids are raising funds to support this revolutionary CAR-T research here in Adelaide and through her personal experience and triumph Lauren is excited to join us this year as one of our TeamKids Easter Appeal Young Ambassadors.
“CAR-T saved my life. With your help it could save many more lives in the future”.
Meet Josh. Josh was just 10 years old when a trip to the doctors to investigate a pain in his diaphragm turned out to be Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML). A rare condition in children, Josh is only the seventh child in the past 35 years to be diagnosed with CML. An Outpatient of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital up until he was 19 years old, and currently an Outpatient at Youth Health Services, Josh has gone on to representative organisations such as Camp Quality and CanTeen, who helped him during his time in hospital. With a passion for public speaking and experience with CanTeen Josh is a great addition to the TeamKids Easter Appeal as one of our Young Ambassadors.
“Because of new drugs and medical research at places like the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, cancer doesn’t rule my life, or limit what I can do.”

Eight Seasons by Sandra Evans

All funds raised from the sale of the book will go towards the revolutionary CAR-T cancer research project being funded by TeamKids. Port Adelaide Football Club Captain, Travis Boak.
Over $1.4million reasons to be thankful!
TeamKids - the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation, would like to thank the community for their kind generosity in supporting the 2016 TeamKids Beyond Bank Easter Appeal held on Good Friday, helping us to reach a tally in excess of $1.4 million.
There were so many highlights, but above all, we were so overwhelmed by the generosity of thousands of South Australians, and the dozens of celebrities and talented performers and volunteers who gave up their time over Easter to support this important cause.
We look forward to doing it all over again next year, and hope you will be joining us again in 2017!
Thank YOU again South Australia for your support.
